You have decided to start your own business, you are taking a risk. But then getting out of bed everday has its own risks. Do you have a pet dog? Then you know there are risks getting up! But those kind of risks are minimal compared to owning your business.
The day to day business decisions will determine whether your business will stay a viable, competitive business for the next day, month or years to come. We at VanBar want to help you become just that, a strong competitive business.
Some days you are going to wish you din't make this decision, other days you can't help feeling like you are on top of the world! You are going to need to work some long hours, make those tough decisions that no one else will.
You will second guess yourself. You will feel all alone, at times. This sounds bad...maybe I should just tell you all the flowery stuff like You made the right decision. Or You are the only one that can do this. Or better yet...You are worthy. But then I would only represent one piece of the puzzle. That wouldn't be fair to you.
I prefer the straight forward approach, sometimes way to honest for my own good.
Yes you will have great days and you will have really rotten days. If you have ever had a boss in your life (who hasn't) you might remember days the boss was in a short, testy, ready to bite the head off the next person mood, and did you wonder what you did to get him/her that way? Most likely it wasn't you at all! Something with the business didn't go their way and they had to make a very tough decision. You just happened to be the next thing in the way. You will have days like that!
Now to be fair, that same boss may have been in a great happy mood and things were breaking left and right but the boss stayed happy...yep you guessed right you will have days like that also.
Being in business is a risk, that is a given. How do you minimize your risks? How do you not make a blunder that will kill your dream? Where is that magic button or wisdom that others have and you may not feel you have?
As Jack Nichelson's line in that movie "You want the truth?"...Well you can handle the truth!
The risks involved all depend on you, the type of business, and your research!
A short list of risks...
